I saw this on MTV a while ago. There was this very serious-looking
man singing a tune about a soldier by the name of "Camouflage".
Can anyone please identify the artist?
Thanx,

Can't remember his name right now, but I know who you mean. He was the
singer of a band called Wall of Voodoo in the late '70s. I think I or my
brother have the single somewhere. A good song if you like that sort of
thing.
(I'll spend the rest of the day thinking about this. Maybe you could
identify him by checking under Wall of Voodoo in a music database?)

It's Stan Ridgway. Stan Ridgway be his name. He hath a name, and his name
be Stan Ridgway. So that's his name. I feel a bit silly now, for not waiting
five minutes longer:-)

You should also check out his former band Wall of Voodoo. They made
the albums Grandma's House, Dark Continent and Call of the West, which
all are great albums. A CD called The Index Masters has recently been
released, which includes old concert material.
After Stan Ridgway's departure from the band, they released Seven Days
In Sammystown, Happy Planet and The Ugly Americans Live In Australia.
Of these albums, only the first one can be recommended.
All of these albums (except The Index Masters) were released by IRS.
