The chords for the song are E, F#, and B, just in different orders. Hope
that helps.

I think it is E, B, F# in regular tuning;
and F, C, G in 1/2-step down tuning

Hi there!

Here we go with Lightning Crashes from Live:

Lightning Crashes
-----------------
F C G
Lightning crashes a new mother cries
Her placenta falls to the floor
The angel opens her eyes
The confusion sets in
Before the doctor can even close the door

Lightning crashes an old mother dies
Her intentions fall to the floor
The angel closes her eyes
The confusion that was hers
Belongs now to the baby down the hall

Oh now feel it coming back again
Like the rolling thunder chasing the wind
Forces pulling from the center of the earth again
I can feel it

Lightning crashes a new mother cries
This moment she's been waiting for
The angel opens her eyes
Pale blue colored iris
Presents the circle
And puts the glory out to hide

Bridge: ]: | Am G | F G :[

Wait a minute, aren't the chords a wee bit different during the chorus?
I'd like to know since, you know, tis a cool song.

Thanks

I use E, B, and F# (all major) in std tuning--I think they tune down one, so: F, C, G. The
break uses G#m, F# and E in std.

They are E, B, F# .... but someone told me he plays them as F, C, and G....but
I think he's just tuned down a half step...

Nope, the chords are still E, B, F# ... they're just played in a different
rhythmn. You play each chord about half as long as in the verse and intro.
Hey, does anyone know the guitar part of the bridge? I think he strums a G#
then he plays a little lead bit, also the bass part would be cool too if ya got
it!

ok you people who have been having so much trouble with such an easy song,
heres the deal and i happen to know this version is correct. your big problem
is this: Live always tunes down a half step. both of thier albums are tuned
down so if you want to save yourself vast amounts of trouble tune your guitar
Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb when you are figuring out Live chords. herea are the chords
for Lightning Crashes: F C D throughout all verses and choruses (it speeds
up on the choruses but its still the same chords). the bridge is
]:| Am G | F G |:[
if you have any questions be sure to send them to me at: Noisy...@aol.com
im happy to help and ive got tab or chords for both of lives albums.

That's right, use E-flat tuning and play with barre chords so you can
sycopate and stuff. Also, I think the bridge involves something like an
open A minor chord and then some sort of barre (take a look at the
"Live" Unplugged show if you have it taped and run through it in slo-mo).
Does anyone know the second chord of the bridge?

Here's a request I don't know if you can do but I'm interested in the tab
and/or chords to "Supernatural"(A song played by LIVE on Unplugged that
wasn't written by them). Ed K. said that it was one of the most
beautiful songs in the world. I just think its awesome, anyone got a
clue bout it?

you are still all wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Live tunes down a 1/2 step ( Eb Ab
Db Gb Bb Eb) and the chords are F C D through the whole song except the bridge
which is ]: | Am G | F G | :[. believe me about tuning down its what they do
on both albums so it will make figuring out the chords to other Live songs
much easier for you.

If any body out there has the chords for supernatural, i want them, getting
them would make my life complete. This is the one song i havent been able to
find chords or tab for. Also, is there a Live unplugged album? I would be
forever indebted if some one knew where I could find chords and/or tab for
supernatural and where to find a recording of Live's unplugged. thanks in

You know, with that many exclamation points, you think you'd double
check your work. It's F C G, not F C D.

Here's my best shot. Don't know about an Unplugged album.

Supernatural
Live
From: MTV Unplugged

Tabbed by: kcl...@cctr.umkc.edu (Ken Lamp)

I have attempted to tab this from the MTV Unplugged performance. I
could
use some help with the words if anybody knows them better. The
alternating
chords are depicted, but I’ve only written the starting chord in the
verses.
They vary how the chords alternate throughout the song, do it the way
it
sounds good to you.

Why does everybody find this song's guitar arrangement so difficult and/or
fascinating. Anybody that can bar an f-major can play this song. It is very true
that Live tunes down. I have seen them play the song and watched the hand
position. I live near Baltimore, about an hour from their home town of York, PA. I
have followed them from their club days, when I knew them as a local band. The
arrangements for the Mental Jewelry album are much sweeter and complex, in
regards to tonality and chord structure. I recommend "The Beauty of Gray".

anyway, the chord progression for Lightning Crashes (take it from an eye-witness)
is as follows:
f-major (barred)
c over g
g-major
g-major (lift ring finger)

GUYS, YOU HAVE TO GET PAST THIS SONG !!! IT'S THEIR LEAST
PRAISE-WORTHY EFFORT OF ANY SONG THEY HAVE RELEASED !!!

The most fascinating thing about this song is that the drummer has played this
tune with brushes, not sticks!!! Think about it!

Peace to all -- and remember Jerry!

dosnt compare to half the songs on their first album.

Yes, C/G is C over G, just play a C like you normally would, but istead
of muting the low E string, play a G on it.

332010 or 335553 low to high

Hope this helps.

Actually, there's no need to tune down on any of 'Live's songs. Tuning
down a half step isn't going to make that much of a difference tonally
anyhow. So, without bothering to re-tune every time you want to play
"Lightning Crashes", the chords are E, B, F#.

So? It's just as easy to play these chords in either tuning. Sounds good
too.

Incidently, how do YOU play the bridge. I'm just curious why it's
supposed to be hard.

(I've never had a problem in standard tuning)

OK, OK, OK,---------
Why don't we tune to A440 and half capo on the first fret using the E,B,F# form
while the other half leaves the capo off and uses the F,C,G form. It would probably
sound great and stop this argument (thread). By the way, I prefer the sound of the open
E and the G#m - F# is easy enough to play once I got an acoustic with a good action.

Someone asked me how I play the bridge, that it would affect tuning
down or not (This is the above Dave, different account). Without
further ado:

The bridge to this song has an electric guitar playing barre chords
(Am G blah blah blah). There's a single note electric guitar line
that adds a lot to this section. It goes:

(0)-------------3h5p3-------|-------------------------------
-1--------------------3---0-|-<==== Repeat 3x---------------
-2--2/4-5---------------4-0-|-------------------------------
-2--------------------------|-------------------------------
-0--------------------------|-------------------------------
----------------------------|-------------------------------

Turnaround part:

----1-----------3-|-----------------------------------------
------1-----------|-----------------------------------------
(2)-----2--(4)----|-----------------------------------------
(3)--------(5)----|-----------------------------------------
(3)--------(5)----|-----------------------------------------
(1)--------(3)----|-----------------------------------------

Trying to play this is the right key without tuning down is a bit
trickier, especially with the open B and G strings helping make a
smooth transition. I tabbed it, too. But I'm too lazy to write it
down. Deal with it.

Conclusion: Tuning down and playing their formations HELPS.
Especially if you want to get that low Eb in the bridge to All Over
You.
Period.
