My next gig I'll be playing with new people, so I will want a
rehearsal, and I want to make a good impression. Just looking for a
little advice on how to run a smooth rehearsal.
Typically, when I rehearse, I'll have the group play through 6-7
tunes, rather than the entire list, to save some time. I focus on the
tunes that are less common, or have a specific arrangement I want to
use.
Any advice/ideas/suggestions are much appreciated.
thanks,
Paul H.

Paul, you didn't say so explicity, but I assume you are leading the
rehearsal for players new to your own charts.
Send them a copy of the book, or the portion of the book you will be
running down with them. Certainly they can take a quick run through on
their own for curiosity, or if they can see you play too many tunes in
Db, then they might give it special attendance before the rehearsal
even begins.
