I just posted my 1977 Ibanez 2460NT for sale. The guitar is basically a Gibson L-5 copy and I guess it was one of the lawsuit models that came out in the mid 70's.

Please be sure to tell prospective buyers that real L-5s do not have
laminated spruce tops.
They have carved spruce tops.
Kinda important if you're talking about an "L-5 copy".

does that guitar have the full 25.50 scale? I see you mentioned 25 but that would be a bit shorter than an L5. I think the 2460 might be a shorter scale at 24.75

please email me offline at mratt57atyahoodotcom

you are correct. I do say in my write up that it has a laminated top but I should have been more clear with my post here.
Ibanez made two l-5 models back in the day. One did have a carved top and was quite a bit more expensive, as well as the laminated one which is what this one is.

Ibanez made a direct L5-C copy in the mid-seventies, with a carved top.
This was an acoustic guitar, not a copy of the L5-CES.

Ivor Mairants, who knew a thing or two about archtops, stocked several
examples of that Ibanez acoustic and advertised it as "equal to the
best". He wouldn't have done that if he hadn't believed it to be true.

It's still a fair deal even with the plywood top, which some folks prefer for electric playing. Someone should jump on this.

As you say, plywood can have advantages for amplification. And plywood
tops ain't all bad acoustically by any means. I have a very passable
collection of acoustic guitars, and my favourite for unamplified
acoustic fingerpicking is a Maton M-300, which has a plywood top.

Are you certain that its a 25 scale length? Shouldn't it be either 24.75 or 25.5? If its a short scale I would be interested.

Hello,

I have a 1977 Ibanez 2460 NT for sale that is the 24.75 scale length and 1-11/16" at the nut. It is signed by Sugihara and is in very good condition and comes with the OSCH also in very good condition. Please let me know if you might be interested.

Thanks,

Eric

There are quite a few builders using the 25" scale(rather than the other 2) these days, Benedetto for one I Believe.
