Great playing man!
Really strong right hand and you don't get hung up on picking every note
all the time like many who have developed a strong right hand tend to
do. Helps give you real smooth natural type of phrasing.
What's your name?
Have you posted here very often in the past? I see a few very recent things.
Are you the same guy who posted an acoustic video clip on the Epi
Elitist several months ago?
Do you have a web site?
I guess that if the Ibanez is truly an L5 clone then it's got a solid
carved top and, at least acoustically, it should be a superior guitar to
the Epi. With a better pickup, in theory, it should sound better than
the Epi.
It's hard to hear the acoustic qualities of these guitars in your video,
but overall, the Epi sounded better to me. But you played better on the
Epi too. The Epi, even an Elitist model, could probably do with some
better pickups too.
I think that a player of your talents could do better than either of
these guitars actually. Don't know what to suggest though. Eastman?
D'Angelico? Heritage Eagle? A real L5?

Whichever is which, I prefer the one with the floater. You can make
them both sound sweet and nice, but the one with top mounted pickups has
a sort of dull, uncomplex sweetness to it, IMO. I also think the
hairiness of the floater sounds good with your playing -- some acoustic
archtop guys have that hairy midrange in in each pickstroke, but not you.
Bra spilling -- du gjør oss her hjemme på berget stolte :)

They lived like animals; they neither smoked nor drank
Ibanez. I commented on youtube about jazz guitarists not embracing
the brighter sound. I'm not a fan of the rolled off treble sound.
The Ibanez has more spank to it and just sounds like a better guitar.

I prefer the Epiphone, but think the Ibanez is better looking. Nice
playing.
I find KA's personally made floating PAF with the double exposed Pole pieces
to be the best picks for jazz. I have one on my Campellone to it is the best
PU I have on any guitar I own. The Hollenbeck has a JS pickup Kent rewound
for me and while it sounds great I still give the edge to his own PAF's,.
The reason is the bottom end of the PU really stands out and from the
recording your sharp attack and sound I think may sound even fuller on this
type of a PU. I am not sure the PU in the epi and if they could benefit from
a pickup swap. Would be interesting this guitar with Gibson 57 classics
maybe that is another option. Finally, you play at a level that demands some
serious attention for a better guitar like an L5 or a handmade one from a
number to makers. The catch is that you may not actually get much better
sound out of the guitar through and amp but it would improve playing at home
acoustically. Post another cut of your playing would love to hear some more.

you're a great player..either guitar works for me in your hands...
I couldn't get the clip to play but I listened to a couple other of
your clips and you are a fantastic player. You have any recordings out?
And he has several videos on youtube--I like his "Redneck Samba" the
best.
The Epi Elitist line has solid carved tops. I played a Byrdland
elitist last week and was blown away. Try to try the Epi Byrdland
before making a decision.
Great playing, by the way. You'll sound good on whatever you get.
Are you sure about that?
All their web site says is "solid spruce". It says nothing about it
being carved. That's usually code for at best a pressed top or at worst
just a laminate spruce top.
At the $2k price I see they're selling for online I doubt it's a carved top.
