Anyone know anything about how Kevin fingers single-note lines with thumb
and 1st and 2nd finger? I've recently switched to playing with thumb rather
than pick, and would like to try to incorporate those two fingers.

Here is a book you might be interested in. It gives a pretty good
insight into his playing style and how he thinks about chord/scale
relationships. I have the book, and in regards to his fingerstyle
technique, it says he uses downstrokes with his thumb, and upstrokes
with his middle finger, or sometimes with his first finger.

Hope that helps!

Also, I wanted to say that I realize my reply was pretty "bare bones"
and perhaps not too informative, but that was really all the book
said. There was one sentence dedicated to it. Having said that, there
are a number of exercises in the book, such as some of his jazz lines,
that shows you how he alternates T and M (thumb and middle fingers).
It's not a big book --- about 36 pages, but it is still informative
and shows you how he thinks about this stuff. Kevin has long been one
of my favorites.

Thanks, Peter. I should have said that I have that book already, which is
why I asked the question. I never noticed those little T's and M's! (I was
still using plectrum when I last used the book). Still, if anyone has any
more information on this approach, I'd be grateful.
