I really like the luthier strings. specifically the #35 concert dark
silver for the basses and the titanium trebles. they intonate well,
are powerful, and last a long time.
I like the DAddario EJ36 Pro Arte High Tension string good and not too
expensive. If you want to go upscale then Savarez HT Alliance great
but expensive.
I don't know much about the subject, but I do know that Godin
recommends hard tension strings for the Multiac Nylon.
Why is that? Do the manufacturers of steel string guitars recommend
string type?

what gauges, tension etc? I realize it's a personal thing, but what
would the analogue of "12-52 flatwounds, wound G" be in this case?

Buyers don't know.

In my experience of buying new guitars (not so many) most makers
recommend a string type. I disregard it.

Hi Paul
I would second D'Addario Pro Arte High Tension. I tend to think that on
a Multiac you don't need the best of the best (and most expensive)
because it rally doesn't have such a refined sound - at least mine
doesn't. On my 7 string classical I use LaBellas, mostly because they
have affordable 7 string sets.
One thing I always run into is that in the course of wearing a set of
strings down - not matter which brand or which of my classical guitars -
I usually have to replace the D string at least once. Maybe I should
change my strings more often. But I usually keep some extra D strings in
my case.

I've got time starting thursday. I'll email you offline.
yeah I use the #35 concert dark silver and the titanium trebles.
they're one tension only. you get the other varietals for different
tension/tone/feel/etc.... by nature, tuned to pitch, any nylon strings
within reason are going to be lighter than steel strings. I don't
like using a pick on the regular classical (i use these strings on
both my solidbody nylon and my classical), but I can easily play with
a pick on the solidbody nylon when i want that kind of sound, and I'm
used to 12 flats on my archtop. try them and see what you think.
I'll tell you what, email me your address and I'll send you a set to
try out. I have plenty- I buy two big boxes of them every year from
him so I only have to buy strings once a year.
I got hooked on them because I was in there and he gave me a set to
try out. I dug them a lot so I switched from the labellas i was
using. they make them in the basement. the guy who owns the shop,
Tony, is a first class dude.

Typo it should be EJ46 Sorry.
