Hi there....

Anyone out there have an experience with their Loop Station flipping out - lots of lights, but none of the buttons seem to change anything. I've had this pedal for many years and used it so much I've gotten more than my money back, so if it's officially DOA I can move on, but I took it to my pedal guy and he said that there should be some info on "resetting it to factory or default settings" in the manual or through Roland/Boss, but I haven't been able to find anything searching around, so maybe one of y'all have the skinny?

Much appreciation ahead!

I found a link to the owner's manual:
http://www.roland.com/support/article/?q=manuals&p=RC-20XL

Strangely, I don't see anything about how to do a factory reset in there.

Try unplugging it from all power sources, if there's a removable battery take it out for a few minutes, and maybe it'll reset it self??

If using a PSU, if the PSU is on slightly on the fritz (low or unsmooth
voltage) it can boggle the pedal, so try batteries. Loopers, delays and
reverbs usually like regulated PSUs, although will sometimes work ok on
unregged PSUs, but can be prone to boggles and hums.

Those are all good ideas, but been there with it. I have one other power source, and I'll try that and see if it's the trick --- I'll let you know if it works!
thanks!

have you tried where you press EXIT and autostart together? Or write and together?

'Resets' often need a button to be pressed then apply the power. Can't see
any mention in the RC-20 or XL manuals but could be worth trying each button
in turn and applying power, Sometimes it's holding one button pressed
continuously for a few seconds, sometimes together with applying power, also
worth trying.

A little late to the party, but I got the repair manual and it looks like it can only be reset if you have another one already at the factory settings handy. they have to be connected.
