Evans Amps

I would like to get an Evans amp anyone out here have one they what to
sell cheaper than the company? I have heard a few bad comments but my
experience is they sound great.

Mark, I just got my JE 120 this week. Definitely blows away my Polytone,
although I haven't gigged out with it and seen how it does outside my
living room. Good luck! Try asking this question in a steel string
newsgroup, because that's who mostly uses the Evans.

I've had the 200 watt Jazz enclosure model for about 4 months. As I've said
here before on this NG I absolutely love it! I found a used one in Nashville
for $500. The guy I bought it from got an equipment endorsement and had to
dump all his stuff.

Yesterday I picked up a used Polytone Mini-brute IV for $300.
This amp gives me a much better tone than the Mini-brute I.
I can get a really warm sound with a very Rich bass. It is clean as I
could ask for.

I play an 175 thru it and do not need to roll off the tone all the way
as I did with other amps to get a warm tone. I'm thrilled. The
controls are very simple compared to the Evans the sound is better and
the price was right.

For those who find fault with the 12" speaker mini-brutes. Try the 15"
version.

I agree......For a little extra size and weight, the 15" Polytone (I have a
minibrute IV) produces a better sound, with a great bottom end.
