I checked out the JE120 because I was not happy with my Polytone
mini-brute I. I returned the Evans (Very Gracious people at Evans)
because It just did not give me what I wanted and it was very
expensive.
Yesterday I picked up a used Polytone Mini-brute IV for $300.
This amp gives me a much better tone than the Mini-brute I.
I can get a really warm sound with a very Rich bass. It is clean as I
could ask for.
I play an 175 thru it and do not need to roll off the tone all the way
as I did with other amps to get a warm tone. I'm thrilled. The
controls are very simple compared to the Evans the sound is better and
the price was right.
For those who find fault with the 12" speaker mini-brutes. Try the 15"
version.
Scott.
