The only guitar recording of that tune that I know is Jim Hall on
"Live" (not available on CD) - and he plays Bird's bridge note for
note. Transcribing that bridge segment from Bird is very worthwhile
because it's nowhere near straight eighth notes!
Whos Master P?
thanks, Im always on the lookout for guitar versions of C.P songs, as I
haven't heard much yet (I've got Joe Pass doing Relaxin at the Camarillo on
CD which got me started on the Parker buzz) - im still building up my CD/Mp3
collection.

Master P notwithstanding, you might also check out the version of
Scrapple on Paul Motian's "Electric Bebop Band" CD, featuring Kurt
Rosenwinkel and Brad Shepik on guitars. Not "traditional", but worth
hearing!

Amazing Slow Downer is a great program which slows down a wav/mp3/cd audio
file without changing pitch. Theres quite a few of these types of programs
out there for this purpose - I found A.S.D the best because my 450mhz
computer didn't stutter at all while slowing down music. You can even change
the pitch, in case you wanna learn in a different key. I haven't used it
much yet, but its great for learning licks that would be otherwise
impossible for beginning jazzer like myself to learn. Theres another one
called transcribe! which anaylises what pitch is being played which is
helpful for figuring out chords. I got both of these off www.Hitsquad.com
go to software music machine)
Although I like using tools like this to learn, they can be bit
istracting - its sometimes more productive to rely on the ears! for
"scrapple" however Im gonna transcribe what I can using a.s.d - then use my
ears to make my own.

I've recently purchased Transcriber from http://reedkotler.com and
that works as advertised as well! I actually get a kick out of
listening to solos at 1/2 speed, not necessarily transcribing it.
Listening at 1/2 or 2/3 speed lets you hear the lines more clearly and
also you can really hear how good the player's time is.
I like Dexter Gordon's version on Our Man In Paris.

And on the Live! LP Jim plays a lift of Parker's bridge.
