I'm searching for info on a couple of things:

1. Where to find the Chord Solos/arrangements done by William Leavitt. There
are a bunch of arrangements that he did ("My Romance", "Soon Its Gonna
Rain", "Prelude to a Kiss", "There will never be Another You"); they were
photo-copied for me years ago as a student- I would really like to know the
books that they are from. I checked www.berkleepress.com and basically all
over the internet to no avail. Does anyone else remember these great
arrangements?

2. Other recommendations for good books on chord solos- preferably standard
notation, for pick-style guitar.

Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks,

John Kelley

I Remember them too. I had a bunch[sort of early van epps influenced with
lots of triads etc]and lent them to a student to copy and never saw him
again.
If anyone has them I'd love to have copies.

I think you mean Robert Harrigan. Yes! That's one of the ones I'm looking
for- I still have a pretty faded copy of his "My Romance" Chord Solo.

I'm 99.9% sure that Steve Herron's Chord Melody Productions (he often posts
here) has these. His website is www.chordmelody.com, BUT for some reason it
does not contain the vast library of solos and transcriptions (e.g., Breau,
Galbraith, Smith) available; (at least I haven't been able to find it).
Steve does have hard copies of the "solo library" from which you can order.
Go to the site and drop him an e-mail.

I've got 14 of these left over from my stay at Berklee and I've entered
them into Logic Audio's Score Editor. There are a few mistakes but not
too many. If you want I could create pdf's of the files and email them
to you.

Correct, they've got all the solos I was looking for, and several more I was
not aware of- definitely an amazing site for Jazz Guitar instructional
material. Thanks!

Joey,

I'd very much like a copy too.

Thinking of Bill Leavitt brings back old memories. I remember taking that
test of flat picking the Back 2-part invention (one part at a time) in his
office. But I do not have a copy of those chord solos.

Thanks so much.

Oh, I missed this post. Yeah, Joey, if you could get me a copy of those,
too, I'd appreciate it. I guess I should try to notate the Leavitt solos
that I know and get them out as well. I had learned "Fly Me To The Moon" and
"Prelude To A Kiss". I'll try to get on that and have some PDFs, as well.

Sorry but I've gotten too many requests for this. Maybe some of the guys
I've already sent the file to will help you other guys out.

If somebody has an ftp site somewhere and would like to make the files
available for everyone then let me know and I'll give it to him.
