"Third Floor Richard" is pretty good - superb playing and really nice
tune selections, nothing common but all pretty. He's got a couple
with Paul Desmond that strut his stuff. I have another one with
him as the leader that I really like but I can't find it right now -
I'll post it if I find it and no one else mentions it.

One to get, but its not a CD, is a live recording from a BET on Jazz
Canadian concert that's just killer. He's playing trio with Don
Thompson on bass and Barry Elmes on drums. They are joined on the
last song by Ranee Lee I believe, she's damn good too. Overall its
excellent and shows what a complete player he is. BTW, Don Thompson
really impressed me, he's a true master of his instrument and jazz.

Start with "The Guitar Mastery of Ed Bickert", a double CD. CD1 has
Don Thompson (bass) and Terry Clarke (drums) backing up Bickert.
Remember these two guys also backed Jim Hall in one of Hall's live
albums simply titled LIVE. CD2 has Oliver Gannon, another great
Canadian guitarist, creatively comping behind Bickert's fluid lines.
Must be the water in Canada that is producing great jazz guitarists
and musicians like Diana Krall.

Great playing can be found on all.
I favor the non-concord releases

Duo With Don Thompson
Ed Bickert Trio (available in Vinyl through Cadence)
Frank Rosolino Trio With Ed Bickert.
Days Gone By with Sonny Greenwich
Guitar Mastery

I second that. I'm a big Bickert fan, and this is my favorite.
