It's a fairly benign bunch, so if you have any questions (or general
interests or whatever) you should just introduce yourself and post up
something relevant to you.

Very cool. This makes me curious if anyone has used or is using just
tuning for jazz. I did a little bit of searching on the Yahoo group
and didn't see anything obvious. The times I've played around with
just intonation on a computer, I was impressed by how nice a 13#11
chord sounded. The main problem, of course, is switching tunings every
time a new chord comes by, but that could be done with digital
technology. Is there already music like this out there? More stuff to
try in Reaktor...
I guess the vocalists have been doing it for a long time. Take 6
sounds so perfectly in tune that they MUST be bending the thirds down.

Gerald Eskelin--of Lies My Music Teacher Told Me fame--has worked with
higher harmonics (i.e., 11s and 13s) in his a cappella groups, but
this is actually quite rare. Barbershop, however, is an excellent way
to soak up a vocal music rich in concordant thirds and sevenths;
justly tuned dominant seventh cords being a veritable barbershop
staple.
