Anyone know - is Ed Bickert on this?

I've never seen this before - Paul Desmond "Edmonton Festival 76". It
says with his Canadian Quartet. As a lover of all things Bickert (and
most things Desmond), I'm intrigued to say the least. I'd love to
know for sure if Ed is on it.

It would be easy enought to tell if there were some soundclips, alas
I'd have to just assume he's on there and take a chance.
Hopefully somebody else on the group has it aleady.

Yes, he is! I live in Edmonton and was in the audience for the show,
which was recorded and broadcast on the CBC,s "Take 30" show. The rest
of the quartet were all from Toronto, Ed Bickert on guitar, Don
Thompson on bass, and Jerry Fuller on drums. To the best of my
knowledge, this was the only time they played or recorded outside of
Toronto.

Thanks for the info, guys. Amazon had sorry little info. I'll be
ordering it presently. It's like finding gold, a "new" Bickert
recording!

I just got my copy today. It's fabulous. It has a version of "Take
Five" I could live without, in fact I could live without all versions
of it. Nevertheless it has an interesting solo by Don Thompson on that
one.

Bickert is truly sublime as is Desmond. A great addition to their canon.
