It introduces no noise into the input or output signals as far as I can
tell. My drummer also uses one for his mics so that we get one output
signal from the drums to mix into the PA when we need that extra presence.
My impression: solid unit, low-noise, easy to configure, needs a power
switch.

My roommate is a hobby sound guy, and uses some small Behringer mix boards
and really likes them. Also, a recording studio nearby uses those huge
Euroboards for their main mixing console, and aparently it's good enough for
them.

I bought a Vintager AC112 about a year ago.
I've only used it about 4 hours,
because I mostly just play acoustic.
60 watts with a 12" Jensen speaker.
It's got a tube preamp and a lot of effects.
It's got 2 pedals that swith between channels...
and any 2 effects.
You can get the midi pedal if you want master control.
They retail for $400 and discount for $300 now.
I'm selling mine for $240, in mint condition.

Also I use a small 30 Watt guitar amp (Ultrarox GX110). It sounds great
and is light has some nice effects, although I find them rather
unpractical to use on a live gig. I usually just use the digital reverb
and it sounds good. Unfortunately I have some issues with the 'cheap'
construction, especially the plastic knobs on plastic pot shafts. The
amp has two channels, the second with a tube emulation overdrive via two
volume pots. Unfortunately the master vol on that channel has never
worked quite right and of course now I am out of warranty and you can't
just replace that pot. Their service dept. was not much help really.
Soundwise it's great. I guess you have to cut corners somewhere. It'd be
cheaper to buy a new amp than to fix this one.

Mornin' Danny,
I've had my V-Amp2 for almost three years now. I bought the V-Amp2 after
playing other guitar processors/competetors. I thought the V-Amp2 was sonically
better, and at that price, around $130 out the door, it was a no-contest. I
found it MUCH quieter and versatile than the original Pod; can't say about the
Pod2. It also came with a sturdy carrying case and footswithch.
However, since my purchase, I've come to find that the first batch of these
units had an issue with the battery going bad after a short amount of time.
Dealing with the tech support was an unpleasant issue. The first time this
issue came up with me, it took almost two months for them to finally send me a
new E-Prom. For some reason this apparently fixed the problem, only to surface
again in the coming year.
What happens is that the unit starts sounding all whack (I know, a very
technical term), and then you lose all your presets when powering up again.
This last time it happened, I tried to get in touch with tech support a few
times and gave up after they did not reply; five months and I'm still waiting!
My only alternative was to go to one of the available bulletin boards and post
about the problem I was having. Thankfully someone replied with a procedure
that would get the unit working properly again. I think it has to do with the
clamps that house the battery; after time they become loose and the battery
loses contact and hence the poor performance and preset loss. I know they have
a software with which you can back up your presets, etc. I just never used it.
I read that the newer units had this problem fixed;
Verdict:
Sonicaly: pleased.
Value: very pleased. They are now selling for $99.
Tech support: very poor.
Biggest gripe (beside tech support): no on/off button!
Regards.
Some folks just can;t wait to put you down because a question may not be
properly phr5ased or complete.. but if I was so smart, I wouldn't need the
coaching..
Please keep replyin' to those cards and letters....
Thanks,
danny

Andy,
Guess you didn't read my post -- about the V-Amp2???
My news server did not show your V-AMP2 post until after we saw and
responded to Mr. Kienle's
post. Rest assured, however, that we did not miss it.
I sent you an email explaining that we would like to make sure your V-AMP2
issues have been resolved. If not, we will help get them resolved for you.
I
look forward to hearing from you at my email address as shown below.

Lurkers abound...eh? 8^)'.. curious tee'...
Nice to see a rep from a company here, making things right.
Thanks.
I am shipping my Behringer Vintager 60W amp today.
I only sold it because I bought a Polytone.
The Behringer is a great amp.
I also have a Bass V-Amp that is pretty cool.
Behringer are pretty sharp on that. I recall when there was some discussion
on another ng about the accuracy of the their midi floor controller pedals,
Behringer quickly posted with the info to recalibrate the pedals. Better if
it had been included in the manual though.
