Thanks for that. I bought the CD on the strength of that posting (around £6
from an Amazon-related dealer).
I have the original MGM LP, but only in mono and it's probably at the back of
the loft (USA: attic) somewhere. The stereo CD is nicer, more accessible and
more convenient.
I never did get the sleeve with the LP (it was in a bargain bin) so had no
idea who the sidemen were. But I see that the CD sleeve still doesn't list
them - those details are only on the site cited above. I must print out the
details and store them inside the CD case.
I just happened to watch this amazing Antonioni movie again recently,
and I was surprised that I never noticed the soundtrack was by Herbie
Hancock (credited as Herbert). One reason may be that most of the
movie has no background music at all - it only appears in very small
doses. I did notice the cameo by Jimmy Page - another nice surprise.
Definitely worth renting the movie for those who may have never seen
it.
