Just the opening clip is worth the price of admission. Bruno's an amazingly
_musical_ player.

My assumption would be that it's not. Worth buying if you don't have it.

Looks like this is where it came from ..Russia maybe?
Jimmy, I would post a comment on his channel or put something in his
inbox asking him to take down the video...he might do it if it came
from you.

I think you can bitch to YouTube under their
copyright infringement regs. They'll take it
down. I'm going to recommend to my guitar
player that he buy it - I didn't have time to
watch the whole thing (only about ten minutes,
in fact) but what I saw was fucking excellent.

You already know your way out of the digitized content quagmire: Programs,
subscriptions, interactivity. Stick with that rather than making new
videos.

There's a "flag as inappropriate" button next to the share button below the video. If you click it you'll be prompted to give a reason. One of the options is that it violates your copyright.

I think YouTube probably does follow-up on those flags, so you might give it a try. Good luck.

Thanks for all the good tips. I have contacted Music Sales which is
the company that owns it. I'm sure they will take care of it. I
hope. Internet is good and bad

OTOH you maust have at least 24 DVDs worth of stuff you do, which isn't on
any of those old vids. BTW there's a '6 fingerings' one you might want to
nix there too.

Just noticed your fingerings seem to favour a half-step followed by a whole
step on a single string, and so do mine, but I play a lot of mixolydian
mode/scale stuff which isn't jazz but I sort of standardized on it over the
years and start on a different scale point to cover all the modes with
similar fingerings. I do tend to favout the diagonal spreads for gradual
tonal changes but I'm using brighter sounds than mainstream jazz guitar.

I still have my old VHS tapes. I think I got it from your website,
although it was so long ago I don't remember for sure. You play
amazingly great on these tapes.

I have been a student of Jimmy's online schools since they first began.
While I will never be Jimmy's best student (I don't even submit videos for
review, poor student that I am), I have learned more from him and his
approach in the first few months when I began than I was able to garner from
other approaches over many years. I do visit the school, watch the lesson
videos, practice the exercises, learn the tunes, and watch the Master
Classes for ideas.

I have had the opportunity to explore other online programs, disregarded
them after a short time, and now stick with Jimmy's almost exclusively. I do
have one other online guitar teacher I love, but it's in a different genre
so they're not competitors.

I suggest that, instead of searching around for those illegally posted
youtube videos (I am not suggesting that anyone here did anything wrong by
doing so - just that it turns out to be bad for the author), you guys give
the Jimmy Bruno Guitar Workshop a try.

Thanks to you Jimmy and good luck with getting that shut down.

Copyright protection is irrelevant. Almost any CD, video or other
sound recording is available for free on the internet if you know
where to look. You might succeed in getting the video off youtube but
it's still easily obtainable from any number of other places on the
internet.

btw...Nice playing...sounded great.

It's such a good video, if there were just a few minutes, it would
make a good advertisement. (BTW, I watched for five minutes and
copped one lick. How much do I owe you?)

Some great stuff on that video. If he played like that when I saw him
at the guitar show, I would've given up right then and there.
He didn't play that guitar either. Maybe it's the guitar? Somebody
take that guitar away from him! ; - )

Jimmy: You play great on this and your guitar tone is perfection. I'm sorry
this was posted without your permission but that seems to be the nature of
the beast at this point. I don't know how we can get the Genie back in the
bottle. Hang in there and good luck. ....joe

I clicked on this, enjoyed it immensely and thought to myself "I
wonder why Jimmy is making this available for free to everyone after
working so hard to do such a great job". After reading his protest, I
think it is awful that this is allowed to happen. Shouldn't it be that
if someone puts something up in an artists name that the artist is
ASKED first if he/she WANTS it up, THEN youtube puts it up? How can it
be any other way? Why should Jimmy (and so many others) be getting
screwed like this and is it right? Is it right that it is his job (or
the company that put it out) to constantly monitor the internet to see
what someone put up there that day?

It's worth it even if you just want to sit back and listen. Amazing
playing on this. A good reason for me to keep the VHS player hooked
up to the tv. The explanations are so clear and simple, in the good
sense of that word.

right. and as far as I know, youtube is owned by google which
aggregates this pirated content and sells advertising based on its use
without having to pay for it.

I bought the DVD a few years ago and it was great. Jimmy really
breaks things down into easy-to-understand ideas. Highly recommended.

who was I playing with? You only play as good as the weakest link in
your band or whatever you are doing at the time.

That was right after your hand operation. I did a lot of gigs with the
drummer, and he played on my never released CD, which should tell you
how good he was.; ' )
