The amp is the accomplice Prototype built by Allen. It started out as
a '70s Princeton reverb but put into the bigger accomplice cab with a
12" speaker, repro BF Princeton faceplate, upgraded (for 6L6 tubes)
Allen power and output transformers and allen electronics. Completely
recapped and gone over by David. The amp puts out around 35 watts and
is a great little package.
Due to the need of the extra preamp tube, the trem no longer
functions. Allen used the speed knob for midrange control and the
intensity knob for the raw control. It's really a kick-ass amp but I
have 2 old fender reverb amps and don't need this one.

Wanna trade for a G&L ASAT Z3 in mint condition? Like I need another
amp, but still this one interests me.

So, you'd take Odin's Tonemaster head in trade ?

No reverb on the TM. Besides, I sold that and made a fortune on it.
Good for you. I didn't know you sold it.

I didn't want to but I stuck it on ebay to see what would happen. A
guy emailed me and asked if I'd end the auction and sell it for $1400.
I paid $800 several years ago and hadn't used the amp in a couple of
years so I couldn't say no. It turns out the buyer (who is apparently
*very* rich) has a collection of custom and limited edition Les Pauls
that numbers in the hundreds. I met him at the Arlington guitar show
and he had a huge booth of Les Pauls. Nice guy, too bad I didn't have
any more Tonemasters for sale.
HELLA_Sweet deal, for you !!
The rythym guiarist with Coco Montoya yesterday was playen a beat-to-s**t,
formerly-red, LP Custom thru a Tone-master. Coco was using a Carr Slant 6V
through a open-back 2-12 cab loaded with V30's, and he had fulltone FD2 up
front.

The "clean" channel of the Tonemaster (which isn't very clean when you
turn it up) has blues tone to die for. I'm surprised he was using a
FD2 with the Slant 6V, I thought that amp was a two channel deal with
a drive channel?
The Carr's drive channel tone is *very* different from the clean channel
tone, and maybe he just wants to add a little grit to the clean. It's what
I'd do with that amp, FWIW. I loved the one I tried, but it did seem as if
the high gain channel had top and bottom filtered for a "cleaner" distortion
tone.

That makes sense. I remember playing the Slant 6V and liking the
clean side better. The drive channel just wasn't as nice as the clean
channel, which is often the case. Nothing like cranking up a simple
tube amp.
He may have at some time switched to the drive channel of the Carr...I
could not see his entire pedal setup, nor could I see any channel
indicators on the amp (if there are any) due to intense sunlight
(stage faced South). The FD2 was the only effect I could make out from
my vantage point.
Early 70s Fender Princeton Reverb chassis, upgraded by David Allen
This amp began life as an early 70s Fender Princeton Reverb. Renowned
master amp designer and builder David Allen of Allen Amps
(http://www.allenamps.com) turned it into a blues/classic rock
masterpiece.
Amp features and characteristics:
Like Allen's other amp designs, this amp will run both 6L6 and 6V6
tubes. It comes with a NOS set of 6L6 tubes in it now, and puts out 35
watts. With 6V6 tubes, this amp puts out about 20 watts.
Blackface cosmetics (faceplate, tolex, and grillcloth).
Upgraded power and output transformers to support great power output.
Tremolo has been replaced with a long-tailed phase inverter to match
the break up of the blackface Deluxe Reverb. And it does. Plus, it's
LOUDER.
Includes Allen's "raw" circuit to add "tweed"-like distortion at any
volume level. Controlled by "Intensity" knob rather than defacing the
faceplate.
Midrange control added. Controlled by the "Speed" knob rather by
defacing the faceplate.
Very efficient Peavey Sheffield 12" speaker for great volume and
clarity. (Note, pictures show a Weber speaker but the Sheffield is
what's in there. The Sheffield sounds much better)
Cabinet is made by the person who builds cabinets for Allen's regular
line. It's light, resonant pine, made flawlessly with perfect tolex,
grillcloth, and appointments.
Includes the same spring reverb unit that go in Allen's regular line.
Very Fendery.
This amp LOVES single coil pickups. Strat, Tele, and P-90 players will
love this amp. 11) Amp dimensions are 20" wide by 18" high by 9" deep.
Weber "Copper Cap" rectifier provides tube-like sag with low strain on
transformers. Quality upgrade.
I'd like to trade towards a Fuchs mod, an Allen Old Flame head, a
semi-hollow guitar or $750 cash.
I'm willing to throw in a few bucks if what you've got is worth more
dough...

Just want to add my $0.02 that this is a smoking little amp. It'll
destroy any Deluxe Reverb in it's path.

Ooops. Correcting an apostrophe bug:
