It has two built in pickups, and while I like floating pickups, in
practical situations
this is better. However, with all great carved woods it has a
surprising acoustic
guitar with pickups inserted. Spruce Top, highly flamed dramatic
maple, and
beautiful purflering.
It's a great old guitar in amazing condition for it's age and a great
jazz guitar.
However, I've gone so long without using a pick my sound bite is
pretty sloopy.
The neck is a bit unusual because of slightly more Radius to the
fingerboard, 10". That's much less than say
a Strat of that era but more than a typical Gibson. I love that
feel. It's easier to play
cleanly with the strings on different planes.

Also, I have a number of high end new classicals if you check my other
auctions if you,
like me, love to play with your fingers. They are all solid woods
with acoustic pickups
and gone over like a fine tooth comb.
The prices include best offers on most of what I have.
I have 100% positive feedback dating back to 1997 on EBAY, and before
there was an ebay,
I bought and sold guitars as a hobby on Usenet groups.
You won't find many of these guitars.

Thank you.
Although I've seen quite a few of the lower range early Hofners for sale over the years (I've got a 58 Senator), a Golden like this is not common and looks really enticing.
You should be aware that this is NOT a Golden Hofner. Golden Hofners
were made in the late '50's and early 60's and there were only 65
made.
Hofner now make two ranges of guitars, a lower priced range in China
which are set up in Germany and a much more expensive range, hand made
in Germany. They are superb guitars.
However the 470 is a beautiful guitar and pretty close to a Golden but
many more were made and the 470 does not have the impressive headstock
fitted to the Golden and early Committees.
For more information see Steve Russell's Hofner website

That said, your 470 is a beauty and if it were mine I could not bear
to part with it!
Bob.
