I just bought this about a week ago. I'm really not an archtop player but I thought the thin body on this might make it work for me. It does help control the feedback, but it still sounds and plays like an archtop and it proved to me once again that I'm really not an archtop player.

It's a discontinued model with solid woods and a thin-line 16" body. It was the 1 3/4" body that made me think that it might work for me. I hate fighting the feedback on a full sized archtop and I'm too accustomed to playing planks to get comfortable reaching over the top of the large body. At just over 5 lbs, the weight is also be a plus. Feedback resistance is excellent for a solid carved wood guitar and it really is more comfortable than a full sized archtop.

The guitar and case are in like-new condition. Here's a link to the page on the Eastman site with all the details.

The price is $1100 including US shipping and PayPal.

The day it arrived, I put it through a few paces straight out of the box.
Here's a link to a short clip recorded using my Pod Hd and a few photos. (I posted thede here when I bought it so some of you have already seen these)

What a shame it didn't work out for you. Do you play any acoustic instruments? If so, how do you cope with their large size relative to the planks you are accustomed to using?

I take pleasure in playing different types of guitars which provide different timbres, and I wouldn't be able to do this if I were so wedded to one particular guitar size.

On the other hand, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. You've been playing beautiful music with your planks through your POD for years.

No, I don't own any acoustic instruments. For my album, I was loaned one of Ken Parker's archtops and I used that on a few songs, but generally when I want a change in timbre, I change scale lengths, tunings and string types.

I grew up playing electric, albeit an archtop, and with the exception of a few years in the early to mid-70's, I've never really made a serious attempt to get comfortable with acoustic guitars. In recent years, I've tried a few times and I've owned a few really nice acoustics but I never seem to last more than a few weeks with any of them so I;v pretty much given up.
