Hi Everyone,

I've begun a new guitar lesson podcast. The first episode deals with
comping and enhancing turnarounds. I was hoping you guys could give me
some feedback. There is a comment section on the web page. The whole
thing is about ten minutes long so if you have some time to spare,
check it out. Here is the link:

Thanks Barry. I remember seeing you at the Buscarino room at the old
Plainview venue for the Classic American Guitar on Long Island show a
few years back. I think you were playing informally with Gene
Bertoncini. My son and I enjoyed that very much.

I'll be up there to do that show again in a couple of weeks. I working
with Bob Benedetto now... What did you think of the podcast? Any
suggestions?

I think it's great and very generous of you. I don't know if it's
possible, or costly, but the only thing I could suggest is maybe some
notation of the basic ideas for those who like to mull things over
away from the computer.
I like both your books as well. Thank you.

Barry,

I just subscribed to the podcast. Very, very nice. I am definitely
looking forward to future podcasts. I hope you continue to keep the
high level of content in future releases.

Nice ideas, easily accessible and well presented. I've bookmarked you
page so I can steal more ideas.

thing.

Are you playing at the Jazz Bar or for Benedetto? He hasn't had a
booth there in a few years. I have to miss the first day of the show
this year, but will try to go the second day.

Great idea! You are sure getting a nice sound out of whatever you are
playing on that.

I liked your audio podcast very much, Barry, good ideas clearly presented.
Will have to get working on them!

I also enjoyed the theme music at the beginning: is it from one of your
CDs, if so, which one?

That's what I was thinking of doing with a "paid" version. I was hoping
to have enough interest to do video versions of the podcasts and upload
a pdf of the material that I discussed. The potential for personalizing
it for very specific individual needs seemed like a promising idea too.
I'll keep posting short audio ones like the first one though. It's fun
for me and I enjoy helping out if I can.

I'm playing at the Jazz Bar on Saturday in the afternoon. I'm picking
up my new guitar from Bob tomorrow! I'm pretty psyched :) I'm going to
use it on a concert in Savannah the next day.

Yes the intro music was from my first CD Sojourner. It's a blues in Eb.
Thanks for your comments about the podcast.

So that one should sound about 30-40 times better! (or more)

Hey, nothing sounds (or plays) better than my 80's AS-200 or GB-20.

It sure sounds good. I was playing next door to you at Jax Fifth Ave.in
Orlando when you got another high end axe, I think it was a Buscarino.
Anyway good luck with your latest venture and post something with that
Benedetto if you get a chance so that we can hear it..

It doesn't seem to work if you don't have itunes. Am I doing something
wrong? I have a PC, too, not a Mac. I don't want to download itunes. I
have your Mel Bay Private Lessons, Barry - it's REALLY useful!

The files do appear to be .m4a, which is Apple's AAC format. So you
need iTunes or Quicktime to play it or see if there is an addin to
whatever MP3 program you use.

As far as subscribing goes, you can subscribe in any newsreader.

For example, I use Google Reader to catch all the posts on this group
and I also subscribed to Barry's Podcast in Google Reader. When a new
RMMGJ post appears I can read it in Google Reader. If there is a
podcast that is updated, it appears as something I can click on to
listen in my browser or right click and download.

In many browsers there is a built in RSS reader. So you can subscribe
to his feed through that reader. Go to the page where he has the
podcast and search for feeds on that page and your reader will find
the feed and ask if you to save it. Then everytime there is a new
podcast it will appear in the newsreader.

There's a Quicktime Alternative that doesn't have Quicktime's antisocial

I don't rightly remember, but I know they annoyed me enough to find a
replacement. Spyware was one, I think.

presentation that is easy to follow. I have subscribed and am looking

Thanks so much!
