The following is pure rumor and I am not responsible for its accuracy
but....
I heard that Gene Hackman the actor has an estranged brother with whom he
has not spoken with in years.
None other than the beloved George Van Eps!
Well, this whole thing sounded preposterous to me but curiosity got a hold
of me...While skimming through my Jazz Guitar 2000 songbook (The Mel Bay one
with the accompanying CD's) there's a pic of George and, holy shit! he's
Hackman sans 50 pounds!
Ya need to check this out...

Good book, I enjoyed listening to a number of players I hadn't heard
before and its got a good transcription of a Jack Wilkins tune from
his Trio Art album. By the way, Hackman (great acator) is Gene
Hackman's real last name, was born in IL and Van Eps (real name) was
born in New Jersey some 13 years earlier. r/rob taft

No Jack Zucker in the Mel Bay book. But I had to take a look a the
book and a pic of gene hackman. I can see where one could see a
resemblance in the photo in the Mel Bay book, Some similar features.
Maybe if I squint harder. r/rob

I still think Eric Johnson must be Dana Carvey's illegitimate brother.

I've seen this comparison stated a few times here but I just
dont see it? Maybe the similarities in hair & build but Dana
Cavey is on humble looking dude.. phew..
Now on the other hand look at Britney Spears and Heather
Locklear. Now they look so much a like, they can be illegit
sisters :)

lol thomas.. for a change I was.. :) I sware I have 2 pics of both in
the same basic shot angle etc & they could pass for sisters. No BS.
Yea, I know, Britney's morality has a lot left to be desired but I am
just looking at this from a pure facial feature relationship.. It's eerie.

Back in 1977, Chic Magazine ran a one page photo feature with these
pairs:

Bob Dylan - Bette Midler
James Baldwin - Nina Simone
John Denver - Margaret Mead
Lyndon Johnson - Golda Meir
Rubin "Hurricane" Carter - Isaac Hayes
Jack London- Ted Kennedy
Charles Aznavour - Gay Talese
Gerald Ford - Joe Palooka

Then there was a portrait that the New York Times ran of Richard Nixon
in his later years. My jaw dropped - the man had turned into Mao
Tse-tung!
