Anyone know where I can find results of old Down Beat International
Critics Polls, like from the 50's? I'm curious to see what the trends
were back then.

(Sorry for all the crossposts)

The Encyclopedia of Jazz by Leonard Feather has several sets of poll results
including the Down Beat International Critics Poll and several others from
the years 1959 and 1960. ......joe

I have found bound copies going back decades in the library of my
local (state) college. Might be worth checking out if you're close to
an institution of higher learning.

All are available at http://www.downbeat.com. Type "critics poll" in the
search box. Click on the arrow to perform the search. Then click on "Down
Beat Critics Poll". Then click on "Archives". They've listed the complete
results for the inaugural poll (1953) and the winners in each catagory for
all the other polls.
