I'm considering purchasing a Twin-8 but have a question. The cab sits low
with the two speakers side by side. To those of you who use this cab, do you
just set it on the floor or do you use a stand, put it on a table, etc?
Seems like you'd have trouble projecting with the cab so low to the ground.

I use a Gruven amp stand, which both tilts it up and raises it (slightly). See http://www.gbase.com/gearlist/guitar_picture.asp?guitar=63122&home=dealer

David, I sit mine flat on the floor and have never felt it wasn't projecting.  Rich's cabinets have plenty of presence. I actually think sitting it flat helps the bass response a little.  I experimented for a while by putting something under the front of the cabinet to tilt it back a bit, but haven't heard a vast difference. It sounds great either way!  It's really a great cabinet. Go for it. You won't be dissappointed.

All of Rich's cabinets are pretty focused for frontal projection , As such I
normally like to place the speaker on a chair so that there is a balance
between the spk projecting into the audience and for me to hear it myself
especially if I am standing or sitting on a high bar stool while playing.
When seated in a regular chair or low bar stool , I've also placed the spk
on the floor on the neck side of the gtr.with great results.

I got my Twin 8 recently and have only used it on maybe five jobs but I
wouldn't put anything on the floor. A chair works well and you don't have to
carry it from home. I am considering using a tripod stand for large rooms
and difficult situations. The T8 has great dispersion. Nick

All the T8s I've tried (actually all of the RE cabs I've tried but
especially the T8) seemed to have quite a bit of over-emphasis on the
bottom end due the way the port is designed. Especially with the cabinet
on the floor the bottom can become unmanageable. I think if I oned one
I'd probably put it up on a chair.

David,
I have had my Twin 8 for about a year and love the sound ,size and
look of it. I use it in my basement practice room and it fits
perfectly on top of a old microwave cabinet with my Polytone Mega
Brain on the shelf below it .
For not much money you could get one of those stands that Randy talked
about or a chair and try it both ways ,you have to experiment and find
what works best for you .
Either way the RE cabinet is IMO a great sounding speaker cabinet and
you wont be sorry buying one ....GO FOR IT

I put mine on the cart that I use to haul all my stuff around.

The speakers are slightly angled upwards so you do get some projection
if the amp is on the floor.

The best advise is try it both ways and see what sounds best. That may
vary in different rooms.

I usually raise mine using a speaker stand. I suspect that the diference is
mostly heard by myself, since the stand points the cab closer to my ears
than my knees. I played once with the cab on a carpeted floor and thought
that the tone was too muffled and mid-rangy. Listening to a tape later
showed that the sound was fine from a few feet away. I have also set the cab
on the floor and tilted it back with good results. While I sometimes wish
for more response in the higher frequencies, I still love the cab. I was
able to do an A/B with an S12 and the T8 and felt that they both sounded
great at higher volumes, but the T8 sounds substantially sweeter, especially
at low volume.

It's a great cab for me.

It seems to project fine when on the ground, but does have a tendency to get
boomy to my ears depending on venue. Larger hard -surfaced rooms seem to do
it. Putting it on a chair helps in that instance.
