Anyone interested in this guitar? I got it in lieu of a Tele a couple months
back prior to my spinal surgery because of it's light weight. Now that I'm
partially recovered I'm going to get rid of it because I don't really need
it. It's a sunburst with birdseye maple neck, 3 duncan aps-2 single coil
pickups, hard-tail, no dummy coil (yeah-baby).

It's got a couple chips in the finish but is a really great guitar
otherwise. It's like a combination of a great maple neck tele and maple neck
strat. Blows away any of the fenders or G&L guitars in terms of tone and
playability. It's not as fat sounding as a tele, however. Probably due to
the lighter weight body.

Anyway, I'll get pictures up later but I'm looking to get $650+shipping
which is less than I paid for it.

P.S.

I'd also consider trades for cool amp heads or guitars or cabinets or
recording gear.

EB/MM makes incredible guitars. I've had my Silhouette for a long time now
and it would be tough to part with it. I'm sure the Albert Lee is the same
high quality, but I just can't hang with that wacky shape! ;-) Now, give me
a Vee, explorer, Mockingbird, Bich.... those I can handle.

I owned a first year Albert Lee and really liked it.. At that time my
main guitar was a Musicman EVH guitar and I felt the Albert would be
pretty close neck wise and give me the single coil thing. In the end I
missed a whammy bar on it. The guitar was almost too light too.. I
liked the shape of the body. It hung good on a strap.

Outt..
Jeff.

The shape's quite sensible when you see it in the flesh/wood. Like something
Leo would do now if he hadn't already done the tele.

What did you think of those Duncan APS-2's....

It's funny - They're great in this particular guitar but I thought they were
awful in the two Hamer Daytonas I used to own. I suspect that they are not
the stock APS pickups that Duncan normally sells. The bridge has a plate on
the bottom so right off, that one isn't a stock pickup...

The flat pole pieces work great. I have flat pole pickup on my Tokai Strat
that work great. They're just so much nicer than the staggered poles IMO.

I wouldn't recommend the Duncan APS pickups for general replacements. If
you're looking for some great pickups, contact Bruce Morgan
(edi...@juno.com). He sold a set of Alnico 5, flat pole pickups for $40.
That's for the set of 3. They are as good as any strat pickups I've ever
used including Fralins and other boutique pickups...
