This is one of his early mini amps from the 70s, which seems like it
might make a great jazz guitar amp.
Has anyone ever used it, or familiar with it?

I have two older Wallter Woods amps. One is similar to the above. Both
sound good, they're easily EQ'd, and of course they're light, smalll
and easy to transport. The sound, to my ear, is sort of dry. Loud but
without the additional punch and headroom of a similarly rated tube
amp. But that's my assessment of most 'good' solid state guitar amps.
Keep in mind that I'm a tube amp fan, so that's my point of
comparison.

I don't know how this would compare with other common SS guitar amps,
as I've never compared. In fact, I haven't even cranked up my WW amps
for years.

Obviously I'm not a huge fan of solid state for guitar, but I've
always wondered why more amps weren't made like the WW's. Of course
the payoff in transportability is not as big a benefit given the need
to carry a speaker anyway.

I hope that helps a bit..
