Solid body guitar enthusiasts have custom luthiers Tom Anderson, John Suhr,
Tyler etc who produce high quality guitars that have become benchmarks.
Please name me some specialist archtop makers, who are the equivalent of Tom
Anderson, and John Suhr i.e. not too obscure, with reasonable volume of
production, and already regarded as producing better guitars than the
Gibson, Guild and Ibanez.

There was a thread here a week or two back on this topic. I believe it was
called "Best Archtops" or something like that. Try checking Deja.

A reasonable volume of archtop guitar production is much lower then that of
solidbody guitars due to archtops being more labor intensive and time
consuming.

I've been very impressed with the instruments from luthier Tim Schroder. His
instruments are visually and sonically stunning, yet still reasonably priced.
