Netflix, that vast wasteland of mediocre (and worse) movies, recently added a bunch of concert and musical artist videos. Most of it is pop stuff, but there's Metheny, the Crusaders and Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Maybe I'll hang onto my subscription for a while.

There is also a Bill Evans DVD on streaming. And a great Miles Davis
TV show featuring Gil Evans and Coltrane among others. A Mingus one
is on there too, although I haven't watched it yet.

The best thing on Netflix is the archive of TV programs. They have
the complete seasons 1-5 of Mad Men, the first three seasons of
Breaking Bad, which is a GREAT show. They also have the complete X
files, Twilight Zone, all versions of Star Trek, all six seasons of
Lost, and many other shows. I had never been able to keep up with
Lost as it was broadcast, but with Netflix, I could watch it every
night with no commercials. Definitely worth $7.99 a month for me.

Oh, and every episode of Futurama!!

Oh yeah they got the mediocre and worse. They also have excellent and
better. That is, about 90% of everything available…

And Crown of Thorns? Or good Bollywood stuff?

They do have a bunch of Bollywood movies. Don't know the good from
the bad though. They have lots of Hong Kong movies (my wife likes
those).

No Crown of Thorns.

Slightly OT, but about a year and a half back I dumped the satellite dish for free OTA and netflix. Saved a ton of money, a fraction of I spent on a channel master DVR. You lose the ESPN/CNN/Fox talk panels, but little else of consequence.

The netflix takes a bit of searching and thinking, but there is high reward. Right now there are two early Murnau films available (Faust and Last Laugh), amazing finds if you caare about films. There is also a Webb Pierce/Chet Atkins collection that will have vintage guitar/amp fans drooling (music is pretty good, too). Another oddity; Visitor From a Small Planet, with a transcendant beatnik scene featuring Buddy Rich.

Both incredible films that I love dearly. You HAVE to see his
"Sunrise". Rent it this very minute. Thank me later.

Since I long ago watched damn near every Japanese film they had I've
slowly migrated to other interests, including lots of silent films. If
you're pursuing silents let me know as there are a lot of other
interesting things. Ernst Lubitsch's early comedies for one.
