All the Must Have Real Book and A couple of Really Rare Book!

No, but for $18.95 it sure saves chasing all these books all over the
net. All very illegal and such, but it's not like the Real Book and
it's many brethren have EVER been illegal. It seems true that none of
them were every legitimate published volumes. Even the Monk books
indicate they are "hand written".

For what it's worth, the seller is on Ebay Canada and has 100% positive
feedback and lots of encouraging messages from buyers. These could be
fake, of course, but I so want to believe in it!

Should read "it's not like the Real Book and it's many brethren have
ever been LEGAL..."

If you're interested I would do it quickly. I don't think it will last
forever.

Appears that eBay killed his original listing
for attempting to sell illegal copies. Then
he immediately relisted another of the same.
Donuts says he loses his eBay account soon.

It turned up! Took five days from placing order on Paypal to receiving
disk in Northern Ireland. The material's all as advertised; one or two
slightly smudgy scans but, hell, at the price I'm delighted.

Thanks foir the advice, on- and off-list, guys.

Someone please buy this CD and upload it to the web. You will make
many friends. It's not like this ebay guy has any property rights to
this stuff.

I figure if he's duping a CD and popping it in the mail, that's gotta' be
worth a few bux just because it's a hassle.

But there's definitely some stuff on there I don't have, so if anyone
actually does this . . .

Tom, are you volunteering?

I bought it and it arrived quickly...and it works. Good value, good
service, so I don't want to put the guy out of business by posting his
disk on the web, whatever his property rights (which the original
publishers didn't have either, by the way).

It's not *his* disk to begin with. He's just profiteering on
something which has traditionally been passed around amongst musicians
for free. All of those books and more can be found on the p2p
networks these days anyway, which is no doubt where this guy harvested
them from. It's like a guy collecting bootleg concert tapes from a
trading site then deciding that hey maybe someone will pay for these.
Bad form.

There were a quite a few I didn't have -- and it was worth $18 for me not to
have to search around on P2P.

If you're a regular here, e-mail me offline and I'll give you a URL you can
D/L it from.

Got it! Took a while to get here (south florida) all the way from
Canada. Worth the $18 to not have to D/L them all.

Well, traditionally, you bought them for about $25 in back of a music
store or guitar shop, or wherever. Of course that's just what I've
heard.
