"The world’s hottest classical ensemble or its tightest pop band?
However it helps you to think about the LAGQ, keep the emphasis on
superlatives for its unrivaled joy, technical elan and questing
spirits."
- Los Angeles Times
The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet
with the University Symphony Orchestra
Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 8:00 p.m.
For nearly three decades, the Grammy-winning Los Angeles Guitar
Quartet has forged an unmatched reputation for making brilliant and
compelling music -- both on stage and in the studio -- with little
more than four acoustic guitars, an uncanny musical vocabulary and a
boundless spirit of musical innovation and cross-cultural adventure.
This charismatic quartet performs Rodrigo’s popular “Concierto
Andaluz” as special guest with the University Symphony Orchestra.
Conductor Kimo Furumoto also leads the orchestra in additional
selections including Sibelius’ homeland homage “Finlandia.”
Performance at:
Meng Concert Hall
Cal State Fullerton’s Performing Arts Center

I always get a kick hearing about the LAGQ because its leader, Bill
Kenengiser and I were in a high school buds in a rock band together
back in Livingston, NJ. in the 70's. What fun!
