Guys,

Pretty much as the subject says: I'm planning to take a trip out to
Boston (to get exposure to some of those freezing temperatures :).
Will be there from Thu. 12th to Wed. 18th. I thought it would be a
good idea to check out some live music whilst I am there!

Given the wealth of knowledge here and the helpful answers in the
past, I thought I'd post and get some opinions. If there are any
players/trios/groups who I should see and will be playing during my
planned visit .. letmeknow! Aditionally, I'm quite keen to hear some
of the Berklee students play, are there some bars/clubs that are
regularly frequented by such types?

Any other tips? Other than 'warm clothes' ... :)

Thanks.
-BK.

If you get a chance go into Berklee on Mass Ave and see Stan Getz' saxaphone on
display in a case there.

For other live music spots, check out Wallys, just down the street from
Berklee on Mass Ave. They have open jazz and blues jams that often include
Berklee students.

You can also check out Bob the Chefs. All the acts are pretty much local and
often more R&B than jazz but worth looking at whose on their schedule.

And if you have a car and want to get into the burbs, the Acton Jazz Cafe has
some very good musicians in their lineup. You might want to check out Jerry
Bergonzi who plays there often.
