Ulf Wakenius

I was in Sweden a couple months ago and found some CDs by Swedish Jazz
Guitarist, Ulf Wakenius. I really like his playing a lot. I picked up
a copy of the Guitar Artistry of Ulf Wakenius and Summertime w/ Oscar
Peterson. Both CDs are awesome. I was wondering if anyone knows of
any other Ulf Wakenius CDs or CDs where he is playing with Oscar
Peterson that would be good to check out? How many albums has he done
with Oscar Peterson? Thanks

Check out the Ray Brown album with Ulf. I think it's Seven Steps to
Heaven on Telarc, IIRC. If you like the OP, you'll love this one.

i havne't heard his records, hbuti saw himplaying with oscar, niels and
alvin queen last year and ulf really can burn! oscar also played
better with one hand than most guys wish they could play with two!

Ulf is pretty awesome. There's a nice DVD of a concert he plays w/
Oscar P. It's "Oscar Peterson: A Night in Vienna."

I'll have to check out that Ray Brown CD Seven Steps To Heaven. I can
really hear a Wes Montgomery influence in his playing (although on the
"Guitar Artistry" CD he sounds a lot like Joe Pass). Is he still
playing with Oscar Peterson these days?

There was a link to some nice videos of Ulf duets with Pat Metheny on
this group a couple of years ago. I don't know if any such links would
still be active.

Actually, Ulf himself hipped this group to the duet videos with Metheny
in a post in this group a couple of years ago. They were on his
website. The Metheny ones are no longer there.
