Buzz Evans : Steel Guitar master and jazz player too

For some reason I just don't associate a guy who is known to be a Steel
Guitar master to also be a decent jazz/chord melody player. But this
guy does it. Here's some clips of Buzz Evans playing in Las Vegas.

I saw Buzz in Las Vegas several years ago. Great payer. Apparently
he was close with Lenny Breau during his days in Maine.

Nice. His playing on "One Note" still sounds like a steel guitar. I
found that interesting... I guess once you get your "voice" you're
stuck with it. And I'm NOT dissing his guitar or steel chops.

His right hand technique carries over from the steel it seems.

Yes I noticed that too. His steel playing carried over into his 6 string
playing. Kind of interesting.

Yea. There's another Youtube clip of him being interviewed at some big
Steel Guitar event and he mentioned Lenny Breau and Hank Garland as his
two main influences for 6 string.
