I have an 73 D-18 with about 60 signatures on it.... Guy Clark, the Everley
Brothers, CSN, BB King, Emmy Lou Harris, John Prine, Jackson Browne, Willie
Nelson... Townes Van Zandt... Many more you've heard of, many you haven't.
Don't let anyone tell you a signature on a guitar isn't a good thing.... My
criterion for signing? He or she knocked me out with music...
I've always used a Sharpie... so far, so good. No fading or such... I'm
concerned about Townes signature, though. It's directly under my arm when i
play it, which isn't often.
My experience with most of these folks is much like yours... gracious,
decent, willing to take a moment to chat. Willie, Townes and Guy lead the
league in this dept. email me if you'd like a nearly complete list... I
can't make out one or two....

Willie Nelson claimed in an interview in Acoustic Guitar, if I remember
correctly, to have "about 100" autographs on his Martin classical, "Trigger".
Also, though not an acoustic guitarist, Joe Osborn, an A-list LA studio bassist
since the '60's, has had many of the stars he's recorded with sign his Fender
Jazz bass. Guess some folks just like to collect autographs on something other
than paper! =:-)

> What songs did Jimmy Carter sing?
Towards the end of his Presidency, Jimmy Carter flew on his helicopter
to Merriweather Post Pavillion (Columbia, MD) to sing "Amazing Grace" with
none other than Willie Nelson.
