I have to go lay down now ail my best to a group of fine people who
play some mean chops.
Larry A.
Hey Larry, that's bad news. I hope that you can get on top of this soon,
that sort of thing makes life pretty difficult.
Wait till you get Spirit back, that'll fix you.
Best wishes
MJRB
Man, that sound tough. Hope you are feeling better soon.
David
Oh man, I do feel for you. I have been there and know what it is like.
Take good care of yourself, I'm certain a lot of people besides me
like your posts.

I don't do prayers, Larry, but my thoughts do go out to you.
Take care

Not OT here. Best for a quick, complete recovery.

Having been fighting just a teeny touch of what you describe all week
you have my full sympathy and best wishes. Had my first peaceful sleep
and non-violent awakening this morning. Little things like breathing
are so often taken for granted.

Not the time for it now, of course, but when you're better, you might
want to get the pneumonia inoculation. I just got it and paid for it
myself, and it wasn't too expensive, <$100.

Great thought! The weird thing is, I discussed that at my last visit
with my ex-doc before I moved, and had completely forgotten about it.
Now I can't remember if I had it or not. I might have been worrying
about nothing. Wish for Larry's sake they were retroactive.
Think I'll call Monday and find out. Pretty sure I've had the
distemper and worming...
I'm hoping you get better soon. I do prayers and you are in them.
Best Wishes my friend.

Hang in there and keep playing, Larry!

I'm not sure what's going around this year but it seems to be tougher this
year than the past few. And, it sucks. I'm 2 weeks into what is (supposed
to be) a 3 week sinus infection/headcold combo. The worst part? I'm
supposed to play and sing at my kids school on Friday mornings. I can't
even speak in the right octave, much less sing. It takes a mediocre (being
very nice about it) voice and makes it absolutely unbearable.
Vitamin C, fluids, and plenty of rest.
Ed
Well this bout has lasted almost as long as the two times I had
pneumonia and I wish it was just the flu LOL. It seems that the worst
is over now but it will be back at some point. If I had a $1 for every
time I could buy a bunch a guitars.
Its just as I get older it gets worse and the pain gets harder to
take but nobody ever said life is easy. My worst fear is that it could
happen while I have the flu or some other thing. Well one day at a time
guys. Thanks for the support and kind words.
YES Betsey I went to the doctor....I may be old but I am not stupid
Larry A
I remember you posted a lot a few years back. sorry to hear you are
not well, and here's a bunch of what you could call prayer ...
Dar
When I was back there in seminary school
There was a person there
Who put forth the proposition
That you can petition the Lord with prayer…
Petition the Lord with prayer…
Petition the Lord with prayer…
You cannot petition the Lord with prayer!

Didn't think you were (stupid) but someone has to make sure! I hope
you are feeling better...i don't know what to tell you but rest, hot
tea, and rest some more. oh, what always works for me...wash the
sheets and bed linens....that always seems to help.
now, take care of yourself....
Larry A
Hi Larry ... hope you've been feeling better in the 3 days since you
wrote this. Let me know if you want me to drop in on Scott and
give him the old "medical emergency - hurry the f*** up" line.
cheers
Paul
Seconded - I missed Larry's original post.
Never mind the stuff about gatherings, Larry, you are one of us. I
don't do prayers, but having had a bad chest all my life I know
exactly how you feel - pneumonia is weird - you don't neccessarily
feel any pain - you just can't stand up for falling over. It can be
totally disorientating.
If your lungs are hurting though, then it's prolly emphysemia, and
that's no fun at all - the only cure is to retire to Aspen or at least
get out to somewhere with clean air - every speck of dust will set you
off.
Kep pickin' - your chops aren't so bad, after all..:-)
Pete
Larry, sending good thoughts your way and hope you are soon feeling better.
Take care of yourself.

Hello group, new lurker here. I imagine Larry is being tended to by a
doctor, but perhaps I have something to offer that will help.
My wife has a bad cough due to an itch in her throat for 10 years.
Although she feels like she has congestion, her cough is a dry cough.
Doctor calls it COPD for lack of a solid diagnosis. I'm not suggesting
that's Larry's issue is tech same, just providing a frame of
reference.
There are times when her cough gets so severe that her chest will hurt
severely when she coughs. When it gets that bad (only few times over
the years), the doctor will give her some prescription cough medicine
that kills the cough. The doc won't provide any refills as it's
genuine liquid pain medication, but one bottle will suppress her cough
long enough for things to heal up. Not a cure but it provides
months/years of relief.
The doctor recommends Cepocol over the counter cough medicine for day
to day coughing. I think it has Benzocaine in it, which is a
non-prescription pain medication. She's uses Halls cough drops most of
the time, and the Cepocol less often.
We started using a humidifier at night in the bedroom this year, which
also helps, as we're up here in Alaska where the air gets pretty dry
in the winter. You have to keep the door closed as humidity disperses
in about a minute. As far as moving is concerned, we've discovered
that the humid air in Hawaii genuinely works wonders for her.
I worry about my wife, as her condition is slowly worsening along with
her lung function. We'll be visiting a pulmonary specialist in the
near future. I imagine Larry's troubles weighs on the minds of Larry
and his family too. I hope some of our cough treatments will help a
little.
I subscribed to this group just last week, and am learning a few
things already with respect to music theory and production. There's
next to nothing of value I can add to the group at this time, so any
future posts will no doubt be requests for knowledge. I join Larry in
saying I appreciate the contributors of the group.

Welcome to the monkeyhouse, Robert. Pull up a rock, light up a beer.
Don't hide out and lurk--stick around. And all the best to your wife,
as well--seems to be a lot of adverse medical crap going around these
days. Hope yours works out!
