Does anyone have the tab or chords for Black Queen?

Thanks!

The low E is definitely tuned down to D. Not sure if the top E is also
tuned to D.

Try this:

E---------------------------
B----1--1------------1--1---
G----2--2------------2--2---
D----0--0-------0----0--0---
A-----------3---------------
D--0----------3----0--------

Stills said in an interview in AG magazine that he used double drop D (D
A D G B D) for Black Queen.

According to a Stephen Stills songbook I have from a long time ago the tuning
is indeed DADGBD but it also says' to play with the record tune down one 1/2
step.'
Also in this book is a transcription and tab of the song. It's very accurate
and well done but it's 8 pages long- too long to put on the NG.If anyone really
wants it ,let me know and I'll try and get you a copy.

I believe if you own the record album (big vinyl disc that transmitt sound by
dragging a needle across grooves on spinning disk) in the liner notes Mr.
Stills give the tuning as " Jose Quervo Gold"

Sorry I couldn't resist

Hi Kim,
Actually, what Stephen wrote was "Performance courtesy of Jose Cuervo Gold
Label Tequila".
Yes, I'm that old.

Well 14 years or almost 15-- later--
on youtube lesson -- very detailed-- guy has tuning in "C" -which he says is drop D tuned down another "tone".

So try this C tuning or if not dropped D.

There's another thing you need to factor in. Apparently when Stills cut
that track on the pink giraffe album, he had consumed most of a bottle of
tequila. So, maybe that's the secret.

Stills sometimes uses DADDAD tuning. You might want to check that as
well.

Plus, you don't have to get locked into tequila. Vodka, bourbon,
anything like that would probably do. Hell, it's the blues. Loosen up.

I use my "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" tuning I figured out years ago and it seems to fit quite nicely. I go DADDAD. THe twin D's in the middle sound pretty cool played together.

DADDAD is where I'd start. Ive heard called "Stills Tuning" and also "Double Dulcimer". Stills uses it on "Four and Twenty", on Buffalo Springfield Again.

Actually Most of that CSNY stuff is in what has become known as "Palmer/Stills" tuning as it was first used by Bruce Palmer and then Stills in Buffalo Springfield as far as I know. The tuning is like DADDAD but is even more extreme i.e. DDDDAD or EEEEBE i.e. the 5th string also tuned down. This allows those drone strums to happen while a melodic line is being played on the treble strings. As far as I know they never used DADDAD in any pitch.

I think you mean 'Double Dropped D', tuned down a semi-tone. This is instantly more recognisable than 'C#G#C#F#A#C#'.

The tuning for black Queen is dadgbd tune down whole guitar to D then just double drop d. Carry on 4+20 St.Judy Bluesman Bruce Palmer tuning from Buffalo Springfield either EEEEBE or DDDDAD

Here is Steven's exact tuning for 'Black Queen'
C G C F A C from low to high.
The low E is tune two whole steps down to C.
The A string is tuned one whole step down as is the D, G, and B.
The high e string is tuned down two whole steps, the same as the low E string. I have jammed with this song for 50 years and there is no other way to get the sound of Stills
