I have a Seagull S6 + CW Cedar and I never got any package material from
Seagull when I bought the guitar. Does anyone know if you can put medium
strings on this guitar safely? I'd hate to rip my saddle off that beautiful
top and negate my warranty! Any ideas where I can find out?

Thanks

Not recommended, Marty. In the material that came with my Seagull Folk model,
also with the cedar top, it indicated that use of anything heavier than lights
would void the warranty.

Not that I have any intention of sending it back to Canada, if I have any
problems with it, but that is still a pretty clear indication to me that medium
gauge strings are not a great idea on MY Seagull guitar, anyway.

But the dreadnought model you have might be different, and be usable with
mediums. I'm sure that the spruce topped model is, but cedar is more fragile.

Does anyone know for certain?

The best way to find out is to e-mail the manufacturer at:

sa...@lasido.com

They will tell you everything you wanted to know about your Seagull. I did that
to find out whether I could put nylon strings on my Norman B20. They said "No
problem" (not that I expected any, but just thought I'd check, and I had other
questions as well) and even recommended a set (from their Godin line of
strings).

The manual for the model recommends 12 to 53 guage strings, which I
believe are medium lights. I use Martin SP strings, MSP3050 Custom
Lights on my S6 +. I have the Cedar top with the LR Baggs micro eq;
don't know what you mean by "CW".
