He was found dead on the ground today, out at his place in Acorn TX.

huge stage sets.
I figure pretty soon someone will put together an extensive list of his
credits. Moreso than any designer I've worked with Bill could always see
the big picture.

He was also a genius (I don't say that casually) at web design, and
extremely advanced at DHTML. He eschewed Flash because he could write
code that loaded so much more efficiently and was ultimately much more
flexible.
I was at Eddie Wilson's house earlier this year with Bill, and I bitched
about Flash, at the time there being no current plug for the older Mac
OS I was running. Bill said something about Flash being unnecessary if
you knew how to write code. That afternoon he stopped by with a DVDR
disc of his demos, and we popped it into my old laptop. Anything an
image could do in the way of motion busted out all over my screen. To
say I was impressed is an understatement.
