Howdy,

I have a Gurian that I have been having an affair with for about 8 years
now. I'm interested in "Gurian Lore". The only other players that I've
found that play Gurians are Steve Seskin, Craig Carruthers and Ezra from
Trout Fishing in America (all fine singer/songwriters). Do you know of
others? Want to chat about them?

Well, there're Paul Simon, Jackson Browne and Josh White, Jr.

Hi Sennis
Perhaps the most noted player of a Gurian guitar is Paul Simon, who
has stated that his custom made Gurian is his favorite guitar. So
much so that he had not installed electronics in it and does not perform
with it, but has recorded with it (this is from an article on him in
Acoustic Guitar some time ago.) I have a Jumbo Rosewood from the early
1970's, which I bought used in NYC. I did bring it into the factory
in New Hampshire for repair when I moved to Massachusetts, before the
fire. Michael Gurian stopped making guitars, but continued to sell
tools. I recently heard that he has left this area. What model/
age/ wood is your guitar?

A coupla more I neglected: Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. I'll leave you all
to debate whether Dylan is a player. Or if he's a player, whether his
instument has strings attached. And if it does, is it a guitar?

How's your beagle, Chief? I forgot to tell you that my song made it
Tower Records on the Beer Dawgs' CD "Bone". Look for the tune "Pleasure
Pup".

"I fixed my dog; now he don't work."

Spencer Lewis uses Gurians on all his 6 Quartz recordings. He's located
in Bethel Vermont. Bill Compiano who writes for Acoustic Guitar Mag used
to work for Gurian.
