HOLTON FRENCH HORNS

The past 12 months have been very good for us with Holton hons. The
valves on the newer horns have improved a bit and the lacquer and
finishing work are better than ever. The Farkas models continue to be
our most popular horn, of course. They’re American made also!

PAXMAN OF LONDON

For the past four or five years, we’ve heard rumblings and rumors that
Paxman was about to be acquired by the large Boosey-Hawkes Company. We
are pleased to report that this is not true and that all talks
concerning that acquisition have now ended. Paxman again has two
workshops, one in London where bells are made and one in the Kent
countryside, some 50 miles from London. Quality of workmanship has
improved and playing characteristics are as superb as ever. We usually
have a selection of Paxman horns in our warehouse in Wichita, and many
more “in the pipeline” for fast delivery. Due to our special
relationship with Paxman, we’re pleased to be able to tell our American
customers that they can buy a new Paxman horn from our ship for a LOWER
PRICE than charged by Paxman in London!

FIXED BELL DETACHABLE BELL
Model 25, yellow brass $5050 $5420
Model 20, yellow brass $4520 $4880

Model 25, gold brass $5185 $5555
Model 20, gold brass $4650 $5015

Model 25, nickel-silver $5270 $5650
Model 20, nickel-silver $4740 $5100

Paxman horns are sold WITH CASE, but without lacquer finish. Please add
$325.00 for lacquer, if it is required by you.

ALL PAXMAN HORNS are produced with medium, large or "New World" bell
sections. The cost is the same, no matter which bell is selected.

The bore size of all model 20 horns is the same at .472 inches. "Dual
Bore" model 25 horns are built with the Bb side of the horn at .472
inches and the F side at .500. Differences in playing characteristics
are determined by the metal alloy, the size of the bore diameter, and
which bell section is selected.

Paxman Musical Instrument Company is a limited liability corporation.
The owners of the shares in the company are:
Robert Paxman, now semi-retired.
Ted Adams, horn builder who lives near the workshop.
Fred Leach, valve maker, also residing near the workshop.
Gary Ray, also owner of Wichita Band Instrument Company, the US
distributor for Paxman instruments.

Available to order:
Model 70 (full triple) and 80 (compensating triple) horns,
Wagner tubas, hand-horns without valve, model 40 double-descants,
model 30 compensating double horns.

Please send me an e-mail or call if you have any other questions!
