Violin: Emil Hjorth & Sonner (1920; “O og K Hjorth” #176); The back is of
two pieces of handsome maple cut on the quarter with the flame sloping down
from the center to the flanks at approximately 25 degrees. The pattern is
that of Stradivari and the varnish is a golden red of excellent quality and
condition. The volute of the scroll still retains most of the original black
ink tracing. (Length: 14”; Upper Bouts: 6 ½”; Middle Bouts 4 3/8”; Lower
Bouts 8 1/8”)
