Fishbone
Neither. It's a special bass made by Zon for Michael Manring. It has
a three-octave fingerboard, a glue-on neck, and a Bartolini pickup
with a Zon preamp.
The no-frills (well, OK, less frills) model lists for a cool $3300.
Add on the detuning keys, quadrophonic pickup, and piezo pickups that
Michael likes, and it'll set you back $7995 list.
"Hyper" is what your spouse will be if he/she finds out you laid out
eight thousand smackers for a bass, by the way. :P

It's a not-from-this-planet bass manufactured by Zon, R&D'd with bassist
Michael Manring, who plays/records with the ultimate version. See it in
Jan/Feb Bass Player. Some features....triple-octave fretboard, quad
pickups, transducent pickups in headstock & body, hipshot detuners on all
strings....amazing bass.
