How about you don't say it at all and not start rummors. It is none of
our business how he passed.

Sorry to hear he died. My condolences to his family.

My name is Don Bradford "Pipe Major David Urquhart Travel"
Lindsay was my best buddy and a great guy
he enriched my life and we had great times together.
I must state that i think this question is "OUTRAGEOUS"
and a time when our thoughts are with his family,I am sure
as a human being you have better things to do with yourself.

Perhaps you are being a bit too harsh. The question as to cause of death is
fair. It's the speculation that should have been withheld.

I have no reason to know how or why Lindsay died, and therefore cannot and
will not speculate. However, if Lindsay's death was due to an unfortunate
reality of his life, and if that reality is discussed openly by those who
knew him well, then perhaps some good may come of his death. I have
attended, played at, and been greatly moved by, a number of funerals where
individuals have publicly addressed, with forethought and caring, the
difficulties attending a loved one's life.

What is certain to lead to unfortunate speculation regarding Lindsay's death
is the refusal to answer the question directly.

Lindsay Kirkwood died in hospital on Monday night at approximately 10 PM of
heart failure. The family has elected to hold a private service. He will
be sadly missed by all of us who knew and loved him.

If you would like to express your condolences you may wish to send a card
to:

Wife - Kim Kirkwood
52 Oxford Street
St. Catharines, Ontario
L2P 3T6

Lindsay was especially close to daughter Jenna and step-daughter Alicia. He
always called them "my girls" and he loved them dearly. He is also survived
by step-sons Adam and Ryan. I have spoken to Kim who expressed a wish that
"Lindsay's girls" be included in any messages of condolence.

Mother - Betty Kirkwood
385 Vine Street
St. Catharines, Ontario
L2M 4T9

Lindsay is also survived by brother Graham and his wife Trisha. Both are
members of the Peel Regional Police Pipe Band. I don't have an address for
Graham, however I'm sure that cards sent to Betty will reach Graham and
Trisha.

Lindsay's talent and zest for life was obvious to all who knew him. Whether
it was a casual or close relationship he touched everyone in a very special
and enduring way. We will all be missing Lindsay for a long, long, time.

This is probably one of the saddest weeks of my life. Lindsay was
always up for a good practical joke and always had time for everyone.
Sometmes he was a scoundrel, times he was the prankster but most of
the time he thought with his heart and not with his head. Something
most of us should try once in a while.I will miss him greatly and
remember him forever. I considered him a true friend and an essenial
thread in the fabric we call life.
