during the last century, maybe because the bands have been trying to =
achieve a slicker, more smooth sound, which they indeed have.
Sometimes though, I feel, the sound has become *too* shiny, like a =
shining stonewall without any surface-structure to it.
I remember hearing an older recording of a band that seemed more =
low-pitched and I loved the dark, fullflowing sound coming out of their =
chanters.
Has anyone else thought about this and is there anyway to get hold of =
such a pipe or to to order it from a maker?
I would love to try one, maybe tuned all the way down to a regular =
440"a"...
