and scroll down to item #53 you see a picture (click to enlarge) of
duke ellington. It is taken by swedish photographer Lars Erik Nygård.
It says 'New York, 1967' but it also says 'Ellingtons last
performance, eight days before he died', which means the year must be
wrong.
What caught my eye, though, was that he is playing an electrical(!)
piano (Rhodes SeventyThree MkI ?). Now I wonder if anyone know about a
recording of this event? Is it his last peformance? Is it recorded, or
is there any other recording where he plays EP? I would really like to
hear that.
