The Dunya Ensemble is an Edinburgh based group presenting folk, popular
and art music from a variety of world musical traditions including
Arabic, Persian and Turkish musics. In this concert, the Dunya Ensemble
will be working with special guests to extend upon their repertoire and
to allow for experimentation with new musical traditions.
Hala Arsalan is a Syrian vocalist trained in classical Arabic vocal
styles. She was featured on the pan-Arab television show Super Star
and has performed in concerts with orchestras and ensembles in her
native Syria. This is her first performance in the UK.
Alba Flamenca is an Edinburgh-based Flamenco group, featuring vocals,
guitar, double bass and dancers.
Constantina is an established Edinburgh-based dancer of raqs sharqi style.
