Ron S. Peno
PRE
His first band (in Gosford) was Virgin Frog (1971-2) then Uncle Mils
(1974). In Sydney 1976 he was in the Frozen Stiffs which metamorphosed
into (Ronnie and) The Hellcats (1977/8). At this stage he called himself
Riggy and Ronnie Pop. 1979-81 was spent in Brisbane in the 31st who
didn't release anything (though tapes exist).
SIDE
This Is The Planet - Meera Atkinson LP (Citadel, CITLP505)
Ron recites on Will He Call.
Rock And Roll Love Letter / Rock And Roll Love Letter - Punjabbers 7"
Zen Bonanza, who is credited with backing vocals is apparently RSP.
The Twinkies were a 1988 spin-off with Ron, Brett and Steve from Died
Pretty and members of The Faith and Fictionromance.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brett Myers
PRE
My Confession / White World - The End 7" (No label, 13199, Sep 1981)
Brett Myers, Jonathon Lickliter, Colin Barwick, Malcolm Cole, Murray
Davis. Recorded May/August 1981.
My Confession also appears on At The Solicitor's Request LP (Rubber,
001).
A self titled cassette by The End containing demos and live tracks was
released. It has about 12 songs including Birthday Boy, Just Skin and
presumably both sides of the single.
A cassette was given away at Sedition (a mini new music seminar in 1983?
or 1984?) with a track by The End. This may not be the same End as there
were bands from Sydney and Melbourne with the same name (both also
released singles).
SIDE
Carnival Of Souls - No Dance 7" (Hot, 709, Mar 1984)
Just Skin / You Say // Swimming In The Mirror
Brett Myers with Louis Tillet and Damien Lovelock.
Little Too Late / Teenage Blues - Naked Lunch 7" (Waterfront, DAMP36)
Produced by Brett Myers, Ron Peno does some vocals. Brett also produced
a Porcelain Bus 12".
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris Welsh

Played in the 31st in Brisbane.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frank Brunetti
PRE
GoGo / Recurring Nightmare - Green, LRS694, 1982
Recurring Nightmare / GoGo - Citadel, CIT016
Frank played keyboards in Super K.
POST
Where is he now?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark Lock
PRE
Played in `various punk bands' in Brisbane. One was The Phantom Agents
with Brad Shepherd pre-Fun Things. In Sydney he played in Swedish Rhythm
Kings and Uptown Movers.
POST
He was in the first lineup of the Plug Uglies (1988), and then?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Clark
PRE
My World / When It's Raining - The Glass 7"
POST
Solo CD forthcoming on Spiral Scratch. Steve has also produced records
by Asylum, Ratcat and the Spunkbubbles.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
John Hoey
PRE
John is from Townsville. He played in the X-Men in Brisbane (1977-78)
with Cab Calloway. Cab Calloway released a cassette in 1983 or so which
John plays on. In Sydney he joined the later lineup of The Thought
Criminals and plays on the You Only Think Twice LP and presumably the
Equidistance 7" and the live 7" (Oceania Oceania / Land Of The Living
Room). He was in the initial lineup of the New Christs and plays on
Face A New God / Waiting World.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Robert Warren
PRE
Another Brisbanite. From memory he played in Reptilehouse. Can anyone
give more details.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Colin Barwick
PRE
See The End under Brett Myers.
POST
After being removed from Died Pretty he returned to Brisbane and has
played with Youth Monster, Ruby My Dear, Ceramic Eggplants (1985-87),
Wickermen (1988) and Smash Acrobat (1992).
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jonathon Lickliter
PRE
See The End under Brett Myers.
POST
After leaving Died Pretty he was apparently going to play jazz, so what
happened? He played in Ruby My Dear with Colin Barwick (1983???).
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stuart Eadie from the Clouds, filled in on drums for a few months when
Chris Welsh left in 1992.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd also like to compile a list of songs Died Pretty have performed but
not released. So here goes. Some of these may have been altered and
released under other names.
A song Arabella was rumoured as a single around the time of Winterland,
I've seen them do it live.
Christ On His Back was performed a lot pre-Every Briliant Eye.
Covers: The Slider [T-Rex], a Fleetwood Mac song?, State Of Shock [Mick
Jagger-Michael Jackson]???, ??? [David Bowie].
Does anyone have a copy of the DNA with the Died Pretty history and
(presumably) songlist in it. I think it is issue thirty-something.
