Zalman Fishman owner of Fifth Column Records and the now
defunct Fifth Column nightclub is in deep trouble.
The District of Columbia government filed criminal charges against
Zalman Fishman, Rebecca Fishman and their company, Entertainment
Concepts Inc to collect more than $150,000 in back taxes and interest.
The couple and their company were charged in D.C. Superior Court with
42 tax counts each. Each count carries a fine up to $5,000.00 and the
Fishmans could face prison terms, city officials said. The Fishmans
could not be reached for comment.

Tax Charges in D.C.
The District's government filed criminal charges against the owners of
a defunct nightclub to collect more than $150,000 in back taxes and
interest.
Zalman and Rebecca Fishman and their company, Entertainment Concepts Inc.,
were accused Thursday of failing to file sales tax, personal property tax
and corporate franchise tax returns from 1993 to 1995. The firm ran the
Fifth Column nightclub, at 915 F St. NW, from 1988 until it closed in
February.
The couple and their company were charged in D.C. Superior Court with 42
tax counts each. Each charge carries a fine of up to $5,000, and the
Fishmans could face prison terms, city officials said. The club's telephone
number is disconnected, and the Fishmans could not be found for comment.
Charles F.C. Ruff, the District's corporation counsel, said the action
was part of a broader push against companies and individuals who violate
the District's tax laws.

Joe, this is pretty immature. Maybe i just don't know your
side of the story on the whole Chemlab breakup thing, but
posting stuff which has nothing to do with the actual record
label seems like nothing but bitterness to me.
I'm staying neutral on this, but everyone in RMI should know
your intent for posting this.

Personally, I think Joe's reasons for posting this are well beyond
immature and its people like Joe and Mr.Abramson who prove themselves
that sometimes a person's reputation is well deserved.
Well, Joe, thank you for your post and I am glad to see you still
haven't managed to scrape your life together and move on. Keep those
hands glowing buddy boy, it may be all you got.
As for Fifth Colvmn, I hope Zalman pulls himself out of this, he is a
very intelligent man and I am sure he'll come out alright.
And no matter what you think of the label, this genre can't afford to
lose anyone ( well...maybe an accident at Van Richter headquarters
wouldn't hurt much ).

Just for the record. That information is a year old and was related to
the Fifth Colvmn NIGHTCLUB, NOT the label. Also for the record the
matter has been settled.
I'm also curious as to why you would want to publically post such
misleading information.
