Wasn't this originally recorded in the late '60's? I ask because this is
what's listed on the discog. I have. Anyway, I didn't know about the
radarscope rerelease. This wouldn't happen to be on cd?
On another note, I heard a rumor that Alien Sex Fiend (of all people)
covered a RC song (off this album, I believe...) Can anybody validate this
-- point me to the ASF album?
constant unease...

Parable as well as God Bless the Red Crayola and Those Who Sail
With It were rereleased on one CD by Decal a few years back and I
still see it around a bit. I know God Bless was rereleased on CD
before that, too. I think Drag City will rerelease both records
(God Bless is their 2nd album) in time, probably with liner notes
by Mayo or something that makes the Decal reiss obsolete. Get it
while you can.
I used to see their records used for like $3 but now that they're
hip with Koretsky, it's gone up all over. *sigh*

Sorry, no help w/ ASF but the Spacemen 3 did the best Red Krayola
cover ever (of Transparent Radiation off the Perfect Perscription
record and the 12"), followed distantly by the reformed Pin
Group's version of "Hurricane Fighter Plane."

"Hurricane Fighter Plane" is the song ASF covered as well. I have it
on the best-of/singles compilation "All Our Yesterdays", but its
probably available on other releases too. I like this song. In fact,
I think I'll throw the record on now...

A few years back I was very surprised to see Mayo Thompson's name pop up
as one of the producers of Derek Jarman's "The Last of England" film.
This was a stunning film both visually and sonically, with sound design
by Simon Turner.
Well, Drag city won't be doing God bless and Parable because they are
still liscensed to International artists (started by Kenny Roger's
brother) But D.C. has just reissue Corky's debt and there is a new R.C.
7" and a new album forthcoming which has Mayo with Albert Oehlin, Dave
Grubbs, John McEntire, Tom Watson, Jim O'Rourke and others. Plus the third
and never released r.c record "Coconut hotel" will also get issue. yours
