Mystery solved!! According to sources, the song in “Blade” in which the
Japanese schoolgirls are singing is called “Chin Chin.” It was composed
by Damien Wagner and performed by Bang Wa Cherry. The song was written
for the film and was sung by the girls you see in the movie. The DJ in
the movie is DJ June, who also did the DJ work for the track. The song
is not available on the soundtrack and it isn't clear, yet, whether any
of the artists responsible for that song have released any of their
work. So keep on eye out for any future releases by Bang Wa Cherry, DJ
June, and Damien Wagner!

Shonen Knife did music for this film (they aren't, alas, on the CD), but
they did not perform the music in the club scene. The Japanese
schoolgirl band is called Bang Wa Cherry, and the song is "Chin Chin."
Information about Bang Wa Cherry, like do they have an album, seems hard
to find. But if you search Shonen Knife MP3s, you'll find copies of
"Chin Chin" misidentified as "Ah Singapore" (the track from the movie
which was actually by Shonen Knife).

The Cabaret Voltaire version is much better than the Al Jourgenson heroin
induced mixer pushing version.

And you know this.

One night at studio, in the middle of knob-twiddling and
shooting&boozing up, Al passed out and fell on the mixer desk. When he
woke, the song had been playing non-stop for 7 hours. Al proceeded to
tape it and decided to call it his version, then left the studio for a
quick visit to toilet, liquer shop and neighboroughood pusher, in this
order, after giving instructions regarding royalties.

How can one not love Al Jourgenson?

.... for this reason alone, for all it's glorious suckiness, I hold
sentimental value for that piece of work. From cigarette burned mixing
board to his tag-a-long drug fiends, Al defies all "computer techno
geek" labels. He is true cyberpunk!
